Michael Schlais about me I am a first year biology grad student at Bowling Green State University. I grew up in Boardman a suburb of Youngstown, Ohio. I went to Youngstown State University where I received my Bachelors and Masters of Science in Biology. I recently got married (August of 2005) and my wife and I just bought a house in south Toledo.
	In the warmer months my father and I often Kayak on the Maumee River in Toledo and on Beaver Creek in southeastern Ohio along with an occasional exploratory trip on the Mahoning River. I would say we were both intermediate level kayakers. I always love to tryout my skills on whitewater while my father is usually the level headed one between the two of us.


I have a 2000 Yamaha V-Star that I love to ride when I have time. I hate to say it but it’s a lot more fun to ride the bike in Youngstown than here in Toledo (there aren’t a lot of hilly winding roads here if you hadn’t noticed)
	We have twodogs Jet (a 7yr Rottweiler) and Rigby (a 1yr Red-ticked Coon Hound).	My wife and I also love to ski and snowboard. We travel to Peak n Peak and Holiday Valley (both in New York) at least 2 or 3 times a year. I have to admit my wife is an awesome skier while I mainly just try not to hurt myself.
