Course Description:      Introduction to ordinary differential equations: general equations of low order, higher order linear equations with constant coefficients, series solutions, qualitative theory and systems of differential equations. Prerequisite: C or better in MATH 233.

 

Textbook (required):     “Differential Equations”, third edition, by Paul Blanchard, Robert Devaney and Glen Hall, Thomson-Brooks/Cole (2006).

 

Chapters 1, 2, 3, 6, and Appendix A and B, with additional topics from Chapters 4 and 5.

 

Grading:           Exam 1 50

                        Final Exam       100  (Thursday, Dec. 14, 8:30—10:30)

 

The course grade will be determined by the percentage of total points earned: 90%-100% A, 80%-89% B, 70%-79% C, 60%-69% D, <60% F.
