Welcome to the Bouzat Lab, the Laboratory of Evolutionary & Conservation Genetics at Bowling Green State University. Our research program lies at the interface of ecology, genetics, and evolution. We use a variety of molecular genetic techniques to address questions on the origin, evolution, and preservation of biodiversity. We address questions at different levels of the biological hierarchy (from genes to populations and species) as well as on a wide range of taxonomic groups. We use DNA, the molecule that links all extant life forms to our common ancestors, as a source of historical information for understanding the origin and evolution of biological diversity. You can browse this website to find out more about the lab and our research interests.
