NALBOH Committees

Volunteer to Serve on a Committee

Plans, organizes and initiates the annual conference; review past evaluations; and presents draft conference schedules to the Executive Board for approval.

Searches, reviews, nominates and selects recipients for Executive Board approval. Coordinates awards and presentations at annual conference.

Oversees the election process for new Board of Director members. Facilitates orientation of new Board members and conducts annual self-evaluation of the Board.

Annually reviews NALBOH By-laws and submits draft and proposed amendments. Presents revisions to the Executive Board and the association membership for vote at the annual conference.

Coordinates and reviews all education efforts between the subcommittees; works wit the Program Committee in planning the annual meeting; and develops educational resources and training materials to strengthen local boards of health.

Subcommittees

Develop environmental health educational resources and training materials.

Develop preparedness and workforce development educational
resources and training materials.

Guides the development of NALBOH's tobacco control policies and advocacy efforts; promotes anti-tobacco efforts; and oversees related grant activities.

Assists with new member orientation at the annual conference; assists with membership and state associations; works with Board of Directors as requested. Must be a former NALBOH Board of Director or officer to volunteer for this committee.

Assists the Executive Director to prepare Board meeting agendas; facilitates the performance evaluation of the Executive Director. This committee is comprised of NALBOH officers and one additional Board of Director member.

Oversees the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures. Explores additional income opportunities. Reviews and approves quarterly and annual financial statements.

Plans and organizes the annual membership drive and all follow up activities. Establishes targeted membership drives and explores joint membership ventures.

Identifies states with state associations of local boards of health; provides or identifies resources to organize state associations; helps develop and establish state association. Must be a president or executive director to volunteer for this committee.
