2004 BUSINESS MEETING

Minutes of Business Meeting

13 April 2004

The following handouts were distributed:

The Chair, Tony Onwuegbuzie, called the meeting to order.

SIG officers in attendance: Onwuegbuzie (Chair); Hackett (Vice Chair); and, Dellinger, (Treasurer).

Due to the low attendance at the meeting, it was decided to seek nominations and hold the elections via e-mailing current paid members (as reflected on the list provided by AERA headquarters).  Hackett agreed to run the electronic election for the two positions being vacated:  Chair of the SIG and Vice-Chair of the SIG.  (Note: The Vice Chair is scheduled to move into the Program Chair position and the Program Chair usually rotates to the Chair position.)

Lyn Richards of QSR International discussed using qualitative software in the teaching of qualitative research.
