| For the past several years, I have sought a variety of opportunities to enhance my creative and technical skills. During summer 2008, I interned at CBS Television Distribution and learned a great deal about the inner workings of a large media conglomerate. While at CBS I was exposed to many aspects of the organization – from marketing and affiliate relations to sales and finance. This was greatly beneficial to my understanding of how the television industry operates. In addition, I was responsible for developing a marketing and promotions plan to reach the 18-25 demographic group for a new TV show “The Doctors.” Near the end of the internship, my team pitched the concept to executives, and the program is now airing with much success. I have also gained relevant experience at BGSU participating in several student-run media organizations, including BG Reel, which creates original short-format videos that are broadcast via the internet. In addition, I gained valuable experience as a radio disc jockey and executive team member at WFAL, an AM college radio station. |
