Kick-off Meetings:These meetings are held at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters to inform our members on the semesters events that we have planned. A couple of activities are shared, and introduction of the officers and advisors are made. We will fill any officer positions that are open at this meeting as well. Door prizes that include classroom materials, books, and a National Council of Teachers of Mathematics membership will be given away for those in attendance.Take-It / Make-It Workshop:
In the Fall, members are treated to an array of materials that can be "taken" and "made" later, for use in the classroom. Our files include over 100 different activities from the various grade levels. This is a great way to build your files with fun math activities.Guest Speakers:
These meeting are held sometime in the middle of the Fall semester and in the middle of the Spring semester. Topics and speakers vary from year to year. We always try to get input in from our members as to what topic most interests them. Speakers in the past have discussed topics such as technology in the math classroom, Praxis information, interviewing tips, and first year teaching experiences and expectations. We are always open to suggestions on what our members would like to learn more about.Greater Toledo Coucil of Teachers of Mathematics (GTCTM) Meetings:
The GTCTM hosts a drive-in mini-conference every Fall in Perrysburg and an evening workshop every February at Bowling Green High School. The topics of these meetings vary from year to year. A lot of interesting information is presented in these meetings. Certificates of Attendance are always provided for your portfolio.
