Books
- Strong at the Heart by Carolyn Lehman
- This book contains personal stories from people who have healed from sexual abuse or assault.
- Invisible Girls by Dr. Patti Feuereisen
- This book is wrote for teenagers who are going through the healing process to answer some commonly asked questions but also it breaks down the different types of abuse with some personal stories. The book also has a reference section in the back where you can go for some additional sources of information and support.
- Stolen Innocence by Erin Merryn
- This is a book wrote by a survivor of childhood incest. She was sexually abused by her cousin for the first time at 11 and the book takes you through her journey from when it first happened and through her healing process.
Websites
- This website hosts information on various topics of interest including types of abuse, recovery, and effects. In addition, they host an online chat with a victims advocate from 2 to 10pm EST Monday through Friday who can help survivors with questions and support they may need.
- This is an online community for survivors and their supporters from ages 14 up. Under eighteen have to get parent permission to participate but they have a interactive message board and an online chat room.
- This is a website started by a survivor, Tori Amos. That shares her story and stories of other survivors along with some additional resources and sources of support for survivors along with lyrics to her songs.
