Welcome
to the teaching portion of my professional portfolio. Here

can view various teaching documents including sample syllabi, links to
course blogs, peer observations, and student evaluations. My primary objectives as a teacher of writing include: helping students realize the role that writing plays in their lives as students, employees, and citizens; and helping students strengthen their writing skills to meet the needs of various writing situations. In order to achieve these goals my classroom is a student-centered environment where students are asked to explore writing as a real-world tool, analyze the importance of audience, and question previous understandings of what it means to be a writer (or to write well).
