Grading:

25 %
|
FINE PRINT:
Homework will
be
collected periodically; it will be graded S (5 pts.) or N (0 pts.),
depending
on whether or not the work displays a good faith effort to get through
the
day's assignment; the points so accumulated will be counted under the
"Tests" heading.
The lowest of the five quizzes and tests will drop except for the final, which must receive a passing grade for the student to pass the course. No one can pass the course without taking and passing the final exam.
Test V (= Final Exam) may be taken at the last class period, or at the official Final time (Wed. April 30, 10:45-12:45).
There will be no class on the following days: Mon. January 21 (Martin Luther King jr. Day), March 1-9 (Spring Break).
The maximum level of extra credit that will be counted toward the final grade = 5% of the total course points.
Missed tests and quizzes may not be made up, except by prior arrangement with the instructor.
"A noun's a thing, a verb's the thing it does. The can of beets is filled with purple fuzz."--Steve Kowit
The instructor reserves the right to recognize significant improvement (or decline) in student performance when awarding the final grade.
The syllabus is subject to change at the discretion of the instructor; changes will be announced in class and posted on-line.
No incompletes will be issued, except for pressing reasons and by prior arrangement with the instructor.
